Island's assortment of resort restaurants features everything from traditional
French cuisine to eclectic Pacific Rim fare. Visitors also can sample
a tasty variety of Lowcountry favorites on the water at the weekly (in
season) Mingo Point Lowcountry Oyster Roast & BBQ. The phrase "Lowcountry
dining" is frequently bandied about in reference to restaurants in Charleston and her barrier islands. Like any bit of folklore, it has different meanings
to different people, but these days it's safe to assume that it refers
to the area's affection for Southern-style comfort food. Think BBQ, fresh
