It's no secret that Kiawah is a favorite destination for families. Besides the island's natural beauty and the unparalleled opportunity for casual relaxation and unstructured fun, there are also programs specifically designed to help guests and their children maximize their vacation experience.

Kamp Kiawah (800) 877-0837 Located in Night Heron Park, Kiawah Island Resort's fully supervised program is offered to children ages 3 to 11. Kids are grouped by age; 3 to 4 year olds (mornings or afternoons only), 5 to 7 year olds, and 8 to 11 year olds. Toddlers must be toilet trained. Half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) sessions are available. Lunch is included with a full day of Kamp. You must register in advance by calling Guest Services, since space is limited. Cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to the registered program date to avoid being charged that day.

Teen Activities Includes games and activities like Teen Capture the Flag, 3-on-3 basketball, comedy improv workshops, blacklight volleyball, "Survivor" contests, paint tag, scavenger hunts and much more.

Family Biking Adventure Biking is the best way to get around the island while enjoying the experience of vacationing on a semi-tropical island. With an extensive network of bike trails - now extending all the way to Freshfields Village - biking on Kiawah is a safe and fun activity for guests of all ages. Consider renting bikes for your stay to prevent corrosion (due to the salt and sand) of your own bikes. You get a detailed bike map at check-in so you can travel the island and set off on daily self-guided adventures. ResortQuest's Front Desk in Freshfields Village also has nature books available for purchase so you can quickly find information about anyof the animals and plants on the island. Splash Zone A wonderfully wet way to cool off, Splash Zone is located inside the James Island County Park. Play all day on the 200-foot open slide, a 500-foot lazy river, and a Caribbean play structure with slides, wheels and sprays. Recreational lifeguards are on duty, and concessions are available. Restrooms, showers, lockers and changing facilities are provided. Proper swimming attire is required, and little ones ages 2 and under must wear swim pants. No outside food or beverages are permitted in water park area. Hours of Operation: 10am - 6pm • Open weekends April 30 - May 22 • Open daily May 26 - August 21 • Open weekends August 22 - Labor Day
